What better than a shopping mart that offers everything you can possibly think of buying, from apparel to fashion accessories and home interiors, that too, at your doorstep every weekend!

Buzzouq, the new age bazaar in Gurgaon fulfils just such a need. It is a place where everything is available  – from different brands of apparel to ethnic chappals to junk jewellery to Tarot Card reading and even baking classes!

Buzzouq seems to be an amalgam of interesting people and fun stuff. A platform for individuals where anyone can take up a table to sell their wares. A healer, tarot reader, nail artist, make-up artist, stylist or an image consultant, anyone can be a part of this bazaar.

“Buzzouq is basically a hip bazaar-cum-exhibition. This weekend we have three vendors. One is selling table covers, the second one is selling cake, pastries n muffins, and the third is a tarot reader. “We plan to have different participants every week. It could be a singer who can perform or it may be stand-up comedian,” says Sapna Anand, the co-ordinator.

The whole idea of the bazaar is to bring good designer stuff at the doorstep of customers. “Buzzouq is for people of all age groups. We organise the market in colony clubs and residential societies so that people don’t have to malls in this searing heat.

The market comes to them close to their homes. This is like a mini mall with ACs, good music and eateries. You name it and the bazaar has it. We came up with this concept because we wanted to create a space of comfort, a place to chit-chat, fun. Basically, a place where people can unwind and shop for good stuff available at their doorsteps,” says Sapna.

The textiles at the bazaar one visited included painted and typical Chanderi fabric and saris, accessories, stoles, dupattas, jewellery from all over India included pieces made by Adivasis and also hand-embroidered chappals.

“When I heard that Buzzouq is in my complex, I was a little apprehensive about the variety and quality of the products that would be available. But to my surprise, the market has got everything and priced reasonably too. Plus, it also has the healing crystals, a variety of summer tops and skirts etc. Its a good place to hangout  and shop with friends. Wherever they organise this next weekend, I am definitely going,”  said Akriti Bahl, a resident of Parsvnath Ville.

A lot of research work goes into setting up of the market in the first place. Market research has to first take into account which complex is suited for hosting such a diverse mix, it also checks out the number of residents there, whether outsiders are allowed or not, and whether the people residing in the complex fit the profile that  market is catering to. It also takes into account whether the halls have ACs or not.

Sapna say, “We have to keep all this in mind, be economical and yet give the best.”
Well, if the concept catches on, there are enough people in Delhi/NCR who would be willing help not only host the designer bazaar at their doorsteps but also go shopping in it.
