<p>Poll banners put up by the BJP and JD(S) party workers for the council polls for South East teachers’ constituency were damaged by some miscreants.<br /><br /></p>.<p>JD(S) members angered by the damage of their candidate Toopalli R Chowdareddy’s banners burnt <br />BJP candidate Y A Narayanaswamy’s flex banners put up near the Bescom office.<br /><br />Later, members of BJP staged a protest and blocked the main road for some time, demanding action against JD(S) members. <br /><br />The protest was withdrawn after the police personnel arrived on the spot and convinced the <br />protesters. Members of both the parties have lodged a complaint in the town police station in the taluk.<br /><br />Following which, the tahsildar D V Ramamurthy directed the officers concerned to remove all the flex banners put up in the taluk.<br /><br />BJP members staged a protest against the district administration’s decision of removing banners of their candidate Y Narayanaswamy. Protesters argued against the order and stopped the workers from removing the banners.<br /><br />They requested the Assistant Commissioner Ayeesha Parveen and the CMC Commissioner Mahendra Kumar, not to allow the removal of the banners and that they are ready to pay fine.<br />But the authorities did not budge and warned them of strict action if they hinder the administrative work.<br /></p>
