<p> The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the Karnataka High Court’s order setting aside the 2008 election of BJP MLA for KR Puram constituency N S Nandisha Reddy.<br /><br /></p>.<p>A vacation bench of Justices K S Radhakrishnan and J S Khehar issued notices to the Election Commission and Kavitha Mahesh, Independent, who had challenged the poll for “improper” rejection of her nomination papers.<br /><br />The HC had on June 1 allowed the petition filed by Kavita Mahesh and declared the election held on May 10, 2008 to the Assembly constituency in Bangalore Urban district as void.<br /><br />Challenging the order, senior advocate Gopal Subramaniam submitted that the HC order had raised several legal issues. <br /><br />Allowing the petition by Kavita Mahesh, Justice D V Shylendra Kumar of the High Court had also directed the court registry to register a case against the returning officer for allegedly giving false evidence.<br /></p>
