'Sir MV's ideals, a guiding light for students'

He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Engineers’ Day’ celebration organised to commemorate the 149th birth anniversary of Sir Visveswaraya M at the SJC Engineering College in Chikkaballapur.

Lauding the service rendered by Sir MV Moily said: “The credit for setting up an engineering college, power plant, steel industry in the State, which was the first in the country, belongs to Sir MV,” he said.

Adichunchanagiri branch mutt seer Nirmalanandanatha Swamy, who was also present, said: “Apart from technical competence, Sir MV had a spiritual backing too. This is one of the main reasons why he managed to live a long life for 100 years and was able to continue working until his final days.” He urged students to become engineers like Sir M Visveswaraya.

Zilla Panchayat Vice President Chendur Venkatesh, Devanahalli legislator  Venkataswamy, DC Anwar Pasha, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Krishnappa, former Member of Legislative Assembly S M Muniyappa, Yaluvahalli N Ramesh, Dr G R Gopal Reddy, freedom fighter C Narayanappa, Registrar B K Umesh, education expert Prof N Shivarama Reddy and others were present.
