Bill on pension approved

Once the Karnataka Legislature Salary, Pension and Allowances (second amendment bill) Bill is amended, one of the family members, either the wife or elder son or daughter, is entitled to get pension, which will be 50 per cent of the salary of a legislator.

Sources said, a former legislator would get a minimum of Rs 15,000 per month as pension and a maximum of Rs 25,000. The pension amount depends on the last drawn salary. Presently, pension is being given to only to the former legislators till their death.
