'Only education can eradicate child labour'

Child labour system could be stopped only if the labourers come forward to educate their children, said civil judge Jitendranath.

He was speaking after inaugurating the legal awareness programme on account of the World Anti-Child Labour Day, organised by the Taluk Legal Service Committee, Labour Department and Koparkolli based Tata Coffee Institute recently.

He called upon the labourers to keep themselves away from bad habits and provide quality education to their children and make them good citizens.

District senior labour inspector Mohammad Akram asked the general public to join hands with the department to stop child labour by informing the department about any instances of child labour found in the vicinity.
