Jagan camp keeps CM hope alive

Last Updated 17 September 2009, 17:29 IST

Notwithstanding the statement of Congress party spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan that Andhra Pradesh has a chief minister and that the party is not in a hurry to make any changes, the Jagan-for-CM campaign cooled down for barely 24 hours before picking up steam again on Thursday.

At least three MPs on Thursday said the impression they have is that the party high command is favourable to the candidature of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as the successor to his father the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who died in a helicopter crash two weeks ago.

A similar impression was gathered by two sons of veteran Congressman G Venkatswamy, CWC member, who are MLA and MP and who met Gandhi in Delhi. Venkatswamy favours Jagan as CM.
