JOIN USA post-Shab-e-Barat festivity turned tragic for a family as four of its children drowned in Medamaranahalli lake in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district on Friday evening.
The children, aged between eight and 10, slipped into the lake and drowned while taking pictures on a mobile phone near a dargah. They have been identified as Reshma Banu, Ayesha, Sania, and Tanveer. They hailed from Bade Saabara Doddi near Medamaranahalli in Harohalli hobli.
It all started when one of the children tried to take pictures from a mobile phone. When he slipped into the lake, the three others tried to rescue him. Eventually, all of them drowned. The children had accompanied their family to the dargah after celebrating Shab-e-Barat (Mid-Sha’an) festivity on Thursday night.
