CM inaugurates Dasara Darbar

No politics in development works, says BSY

Nobody should play politics in the issues of development, said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. He was speaking after inaugurating the 18th Sharannavarathri Dasara Darbar of Balehonnur Rambhapuri Peeta’s Veerasomeshwara Jagadguru and Janajagruthi Dharma Sammelan on Saturday.

“There should be no politics in religion, but there should be religion in politics. Swamiji is working continuously for creating awareness of Dharma, Rashtra and Samaja,” he said.
Yathishwara Samiji, Virupaksha Linga Swamiji, Renukacharya Shivacharya Swamiji, ZP President Gayathri Shanthegowda, MP D V Sadananda Gowda, MLAs M P Kumaraswamy, D S Suresh, Chief Whip D N Jeevaraj, Renuckacharya, CMC President H D Thammaiah, former MLA K B Mallikarjuna, DC R Narayanaswamy, SP M N Nagaraj, Gowramma Basavegowda and former MLA C S Shastri were present.

Balehonnur Swamiji presented the Chief Minister with “Rajadharma Kanteerava” award on the occasion. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said Rs 1.5 crore will be released immediately to complete the works of the district jail. Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the inaugural of the Dasara Darbar, he said necessary steps will be taken to shift the jail to the city outskirts.

He admitted that the District-in-Charge Minister has neglected the district, and assured that an official with the rank of a secretary would be appointed to look after the development of the district. Yeddyurappa also clarified that the proposed Police Academy at Kudremukh would not be shifted to Sagara. “The Kudremukh site is in Centre’s possession. We have written to the Central government for the space,” he said.
