Union Corporate Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily on Sunday said the BJP central leadership has sent out a bad message to the people of Karnataka by failing to refuse former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s demand for D V Sadananda Gowda’s ouster.

He was speaking at a press conference in the City.

Buckling to the pressure tactics by BSY, the party has made it clear that it will allow corruption to continue unabated besides encouraging caste-based politics.

The former chief minister of Karnataka said the party has created an atmosphere which will make it difficult for it to come back to power.

“Their aim might be to remain in power now as they know they might not come back to power. If this is their reasoning, then the decision taken is good,” Moily said.

Terming Gowda’s tenure as clean, Moily, however, said, that even he did not have the will power to rectify the mistakes made by the previous government. “We shall rally against this scourge of bad governance, caste politics and corruption,” he said.

Job fair

Moily said the SJC Institute of Technology, Chikkaballapur, with the help of the local body and other organisations, will host a mega employment fair on July 14 and 15, and 126 companies have already confirmed participation.

“An open to all fair, it will include training modules to prepare candidates for interviews and also provide career counselling,” Moily said.

Candidates and employers will also have an option of uploading the relevant details on a website created for the purpose.

As a buildup to the fair, training and orientation programmes were organised at nine centres on Sunday, in order to provide clarity to rural youth about industry expectations.

There will also be an on-the-spot orientation programmes at the venue on the day of the fair.

Noting that close to 1,600 students have enrolled for the training programme, Moily said: “...We will also look at opening a permanent placement office in Chikkaballapur for people who do not get jobs on the day of the fair.”

Online registrations will be accepted and candidates can register on the spot as well. The job fair will be open to participants from all over the country.

The website for the job fair is www.udyogamela.com and the email address is info@udyogmela.com.
