A meeting of Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha and Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane, held at Inspection Bungalow in the city on Saturday, has resolved to staged a dharna over alleged improper distribution of Bhagyalakshmi bonds in the district.
While bonds have been issued to 11,756 people, they are yet to be distributed to 5,802 applicants during the period 2006 to 2009.
With a view to prevail upon the department to take expeditious steps in this behalf, it was decided to stage a dharna in front of the office of Women and Child Welfare Department on October 3. The beneficiaries have been requested to take part in large numbers in the dharna.
