“Cooperative institutions have played commendable role in providing access to credit facilities for the farmers and the poor. Political interference will spell doom on the cooperative movement. Unfortunately, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is trying to experiment with ‘Operation Lotus’ even in cooperative sector too,” he said addressing a programme organised to mark the inauguration of the new building of Malnad Credit Cooperative Society here on Sunday.
Yeddyurappa’s son and local MP B Y Raghavendra was also one of the guests for the programme. Nanaiah said, “I will urge B Y Raghavendra to suggest his father against interfering in cooperative institutions.” However B Y Raghavendra by then had left the venue to attend another programme.
The drive against corruption should commence from CM’s office itself, he stated.
