In the morning, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj  minister Shobha Karandlaje walked for a few meters from Town Hall to K R Circle as a part of the Heritage walk. However this event, which was organised to educate people about the cultural heritage of Mysore, evoked poor response.

Later, Shobha, who is also the District-In-Charge Minister,  pedalled the cycle to mark the inauguration of ‘Heritage Cycle Rally’ organised to encourage people to ride cycles.

Good gathering

Despite heavy rains which lashed the city for more than two hours, thousands attended the live performance by Bollywood playback singer, Shreya Ghoshal at Maharaja’s College Grounds, as part of Yuva Dasara. The crowd had assembled at the venue at least an hour before the performance.

In the morning, hundreds of people exhibited different asanas of yoga in front of Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple, adjacent to Mysore Palace as part of ‘Yoga Dasara’. While Mayor Purushottam performed some asanas, the minister did surya namaskara much the delight of the participants.

Airshow

‘Surya Kiran’ and Advanced Light Helicopters ‘Sarang’ will enthral Mysoreans on September 22 and 24 at the historic Bannimantap Grounds in Mysore. While the full-dress rehearsal will be held on September 22, the grand show is scheduled for September 24 at 10 am.

IAF planes and helicopters will be participating in the exhibition. IAF officers have instructed the district administration not to allow air traffic on September 22 and 24 in view of the air show. As per the instruction, the administration has banned movement of planes at the newly-built Mandakalli Airport on those two days.
