BBMP official held for graft

The Lokayukta police have trapped an assistant revenue officer of the BBMP on bribery charges. 

Prabhakar Rao lodged a complaint with the police after Rajendra, the ARO of Jogupalya ward, demanded money to make changes to a khata for a house in Indiranagar. Rajendra agreed to make the changes if he was given Rs 9,000. 

A team led by Inspectors Anil Kumar and S T Yogesh, arrested Rajendra at the office of Assistant Revenue Officer at Utility Building, while he was accepting the bribe. Rajendra has been remanded in judicial custody.

Two months ago Kumar, the predecessor of  Rajendra was also trapped by the Lokayukta police for demanding bribe for similar work.
