A couple died here on Thursday after a lorry rammed into the two-wheeler they were travelling on near Baburayanakoppalu in the taluk on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Tammanna (50) and Shashikala (40) of Belagola in the taluk.
Tammanna along with his wife Shashikala was heading to Srirangapatna from Mandya when a lorry hit their mobike. Police said the accident occurred due to the callousness of the lorry driver.
Police have arrested the driver and seized the lorry. A huge crowd gathered on the state highway following the mishap. A case has been registered.
