Community radio Sarang to be launched at St Aloysius College

Addressing a news conference, Principal Swebert D’Silva said that the Governor of Karnataka H R Bharadwaj will inaugurate the radio studio and Union Minister for Law and Justice M Veerappa Moily will launch the community radio Sarang. Home Minister Dr V S Acharya will inaugurate the TV studio. Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza and Karnataka Jesuit Educational Society President Fr Francis Serrao will bless the gathering.

He said that the inaugural programme will be followed by a formal programme jointly organised by Mangalore branch of Institute of Chartered Accounts of India and Radio Sarang wherein the Governor will speak on ‘mass media and social responsibility’ and Moily will speak on ‘challenges to law in the 21st century in the context of cyber crimes’.  Dr V S Acharya will speak on ‘Vision Karnataka 2020’.

Sarang Director Dr Richard Rego said that Sarang is the first community radio in Mangalore which is managed by St Aloysius  College Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies.
