Defence Minister A K Antony on Saturday said everybody was equal in the Cabinet.
“There is no senior or junior Cabinet ministers. We are all equal in the Cabinet,” Antony said here, after inducting the indigenous stealth frigate INS Sahyadri into the Indian Navy.
The defence minister's comment comes in the wake of an apparent fissure within the UPA, with NCP supremo and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar reportedly expressing his unhappiness over Antony being given the number two post in the Cabinet following Pranab Mukherjee's departure.
Earlier, Pawar and NCP leader Praful Patel had skipped a Cabinet meeting.
