Rains bring Pennar to spate

Thanks to the copious rains in Hosuru, Manchenahalli, Vatadahosahalli, Tippaganahalli, D Palya and Tondebhavi hoblis of the taluk followed by heavy downpour at Nandi hills, the river is brimming with water which otherwise carries very less water.

The Kindi dam has been erected across the river to help the farmers in the taluk. The dam is linked to various tanks through channels which provide water for drinking and irrigation. The dam was constructed by former MP R L Jalappa from MP fund.

Seven tanks including Maraluru, Idaguru, Chandanaduru and Yakarlahalli have been linked to the dam. Water has already been released to some of the tanks for irragation.
