Housebreakers strike; valuables stolen

Miscreants broke into a house in Kuvempunagar police limits and made away with gold ornaments weighing 40 gram at Dattagalli third stage.

The theft occurred in the house of Anthony Thomas, head of Kidzee School, when he had been away to Hyderabad with his family.

Returning on Monday evening, he found that miscreants had fled with gold ornaments and four watches. Kuvempunagar police have registered a case.

Two-wheeler theft

Metagalli police arrested four persons on charges of two-wheeler theft. The police recovered two motorbikes worth Rs 80,000 from the arrested.

The accused have been identified as Umesh, Govind, Mahesh and Umesh of Mahadevapura. The four had been found moving in a suspicious manner on the ring road, following which Metagalli police questioned them.

The four revealed that they had stolen motorbikes at Arakere in Mandya district and KSRTC rural bus stand. The arrested were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.

Chain snatching

Another incident of chain snatching was reported from Ramakrishna Nagar E and F Block in the city on Monday afternoon.

Two miscreants on a motorbike came from behind and snatched a gold chain weighing 30 grams from homemaker Manjula, wife of Subbanna at 12 noon, when she was on a walk.

Kuvempunagar police have registered a case.
