Elaneeru, Badamane, Bangarabali regions are still devoid of basic facilities in Belthangady taluk. In fact, the elected representatives have forgotten that Elaneeru village exists. If the road from Elaneeru-Belthangady is repaired, then the distance between Malnad and Coastal districts will be reduced. The distance to Belthanagday via Elaneer-Didupe would be 35 kms instead of the present 120 kms. At the same time, Horanadu and Dharmasthala can be reached in 55 kms instead of 130 kms. Via Elaneeru-Belthangady, the distance between Kalasa-Mangalore will be only 93 km instead of 120 km.  The delegation said 1.5 hectare land of the road comes under National Park. The road must be developed only after seeking direction from the forest department.

Speaking after receiving the memorandum, Nalin Kumar Kateel said that he along with MP D V Sadananda Gowda will convene a meeting of engineers to discuss on the development of the road. He also assured to undertake a village stay at Elaneer in the first week of October.
