The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Friday announced a roadmap to implement the flagship infrastructure projects in the key sectors, including the high speed rail corridor project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, for which technical feasibility study has been conducted.

Other such projects include three airports and two major port schemes.

The PMO has asked the ministries concerned to complete formalities for the projects in a time-bound manner. In a statement released here, the PMO said it will regularly monitor the progress of these projects, which will boost the country’s growth.

“In recent meetings, detailed roadmaps have been worked for the flagship infrastructure projects in key sectors. The projects are moving ahead smoothly and detailed timelines have been drawn up for intermediate stages. Mechanisms have also been put in place for regular monitoring and problem solving,” the release said.

The PMO has already drawn implementation roadmap for the high speed rail corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, the elevated rail corridor project in Mumbai and other routes, redevelopment of five railway stations, two major ports in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal and three airports at Navi Mumbai, Mopa (Goa) and Kannur (Kerala).

For redevelopment of railway stations, a new body, the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation, will be constituted soon.
Five stations have already been shortlisted for redevelopment.
