Shrinivasgowda revealed that a sum of Rs 50,000 had been deposited, whose interest is used to purchase awards for distribution.

Extra deposit

“This year an additional amount of Rs 50,000 will be kept as deposit. Such talent awards should be given every year without fail using the interest amount from these deposits,” he said.

“As the district is facing drought, agriculture activities are reducing and students should understand the importance of education. Moreover, this is the only school which has 23 acre campus. The government also can think of starting a pre-university college here,” he added.

G K Venkatashivareddy, the Legislator of Srinivaspur said that money had been raised to improve the school.

“A sum of Rs 5 lakh has been released which will be used to build a compound wall for the school. The rest of the amount will be released in stages,” he added.

Members of the staff who helped the school to reach a 100 per cent pass result were also honoured during the occasion.
