28 per cent pass in II PU supplementary examination

Just about 28 per cent of students who wrote the II PU supplementary examination in July have passed. 

Girls have outperformed boys, rural students fared well  and Kannada-medium examinees paced ahead of English-medium pupils. The pass percentage this year is 27.79. Of 2,09,233 students who appeared for the exam, only 58,146 have passed. The success rate among girls is 32.50 per cent, way ahead of boys’ 24.90. Students from rural areas managed a pass percentage of 29.2 whereas urban examinees had to be content with 27.45 per cent.

Kannada-medium students achieved a score of 28.26 per cent, a point better than English-medium examinees’ 27.27 per cent. Bangalore South stood 14th with a pass percentage of 28.62 and Bangalore North 15th with 28.17. Bangalore Rural came 19th with a score of 26.60 per cent.

The results will be declared at all pre-university colleges on August 1. Students can seek photocopies of the answerscripts or apply for re-totalling of marks or fresh evaluation by paying stipulated fee at BangaloreOne centres. Students can also download the applications on www.pue.kar.nic.in and send them by speed post/courier to the Deputy Director (exams), DPUE, 18th Cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore-12. 

The fee should be paid through treasury challan. The applications to obtain photocopies of answerscripts should be submitted before August 6, while those seeking revaluation or retotalling should be submitted before August 10.
