3 killed in road accidents

 Three persons, including a two-year-old, were crushed to death in road accidents in eastDelhi in last 24 hours, police said.


A tempo crushed a two-year-old girl to death at Khajuri Khas in north-east Delhi. Deepika lived with her parents Umesh Kumar and Meenakshi at Sonia Vihar in Khajuri Khas.
She was playing with her mother outside Umesh’s office on Wednesday night when a the speeding tempo hit her, dragged her a few meters and crushed her to death.
Leaving the tempo on the spot, the driver fled from the spot.


Deepika was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.


After a post-mortem, police handed over the body to her parents on Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, police registered a case of negligent driving. Driver Jitu is absconding.


Cousins hit


An 18-year-old boy was killed and his elder cousin was injured after their bicycle was hit by a speeding truck at Gazipur in east Delhi.


Vishnu and his cousin Dharamveer, 20, residents of Ghaziabad, were going home from Gazipur on a bicycle on Wednesday night.


The truck coming from opposite direction hit them. Some passersby informed police.
“We rushed the victims to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where doctors declared Vishnu dead and Dharamveer is recuperating,” said a police officer.


Driver Om Prakash, 50, was nabbed on the spot and was later arrested for negligent driving. After a post-mortem, police handed Vishnu’s body to his parents.


Driver killed
In third accident, Subhash Sharma, 48, a driver by profession, died after an unidentified vehicle hit his van on Tuesday night in east Delhi’s Shakarpur.
Sharma, a resident of Nandnagri in east Delhi, was hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle from behind.


He was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where he was declared brought dead. After a post-mortem, police handed over the body to his family.
