Unfilled seats for repeat students

Last Updated 10 August 2012, 17:17 IST

Students who passed the II PU supplementary examination held in July and had appeared for the Common Entrance Test (CET) in June will be offered seats that remain unfilled when the online counselling concludes later this month.

As per the consensual agreement entered into between the State government and private colleges, seats that remain vacant after the regular allotment gets over by August will be made available to students who have passed the supplementary examination. The second stage of the casual vacancy round is to begin on August 16. It might be followed by an extended round for regular students, if necessary. Thereafter, seats will be allotted to students who have passed the supplementary exam.

A merit list of such students will be published by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on www.kea.kar.nic.in in the second week of September. Students who have passed the Class 12/+2 supplementary exam conducted by other states will not be assigned CET ranks. But those who have written the CBSE compartmental exam and the equivalent one conducted by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) in Karnataka will be eligible. Students who wrote the supplementary examination last year or before will not be eligible.

While the data of II PU students will be taken directly from the Department of Pre-University Education, CBSE/CISCE students need to e-mail scanned copies of their Class 12 marks cards on keaauthority-kar@nic.in by August 25. They should mention their CET-2012 admission ticket number.
