<p>The KSRTC on Thursday launched a new Volvo 9400 model 6X2 multi-axle inter-city luxury bus here. It is the first public transport undertaking to induct a multi-axle bus into its fleet on a free trial basis.<br /><br />Flagging off the first of such buses here, Minister for Transport R Ashoka said the 13.8 metre-long fully-built bus has 53 executive reclining seats and is equipped with mobile and laptop charger sockets for each passenger. Volvo has offered two such multi-axle buses to KSRTC on a free trial period for three months. <br /><br />Initially these two buses will operate on the Bangalore-Mysore route and later, on the Bangalore-Chennai, inter-State route. Based on feedback from passengers and performance of the bus, we will later decide on its permanent induction, Ashoka said.<br /></p>
