Sericulture Minister Venkataramanappa, on Thursday, said in the last year the bonus was Rs 50 per kg of cocoons.
The government had decided to increase it to Rs 100 from the present year, to encourage sericulture in Hyderbad-Karnataka region.
Those women who take up sericulture in the Hyderbad-Karnataka region would get a support price of Rs 10 per kg of cocoon, while men would get Rs 5 per kg of cocoon.
