<p>Several parts of the City went without power for the longest duration on Friday, following technical glitches at a Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited’s (KPTCL) 220 KVA station.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Power supply was disrupted in Vijaynagar, Nagarbavi, M C Layout, Rajajinagar, Chandra Layout, GKW Layout, areas around Bangalore University, Hosakerehalli, HSR Layout, Jayanagar, BTM Layout, Banashankari and other places.<br /><br />Several people complained about the power cuts since 7.30 am. “It was restored for just five minutes at around 12.30 noon. Again there was a power cut until evening,” said Sridevi of HSR Layout. <br /><br />The Bescom authorities said the power cut was due to ‘jump cut’ in the Vrishabavathi 220 KV station near Kengeri.<br /><br />t will be restored by night. This is just to ensure that there will not be any technical problem due to an overload,” said a Bescom official.</p>
