Seven killed in two accidents

Seven persons including five of a family were killed in two seperate accidents in Mandya Tuesday night.


Abbas, 44, his mother Ayesha, 60, wife Baby Shareeza, 38, son Zabeer and brother Jaffer, 25, died when their car rammed a tree near the government PU College in the town.


All are from Edakkara of Nilambur taluk in Kerala, said police. Shareeza, Zabeer and Jaffer died on the spot while Ayesha and Abbas succumbed to injuries at Nimhans in Bangalore.
Other members of their family - Asif, Naina and Akhil - are admitted to a private hospital in Mysore and Aman is being treated at Nimhans, the police said.


In another accident, Santosh, 26, and Rajesh, 28, of Uppardoddi in Maddur taluk were killed when their four-wheeler collided with a lorry on the outskirts of the town. The two along with Anil, Nandish, Madhu, Nagaraju and Siddu were on their way to KR Pet to purchase tender coconuts when the accident occured. The others have been admitted to the district hospital.
