The Bangalore City police arrested one more person in the City Sunday afternoon for suspected links with terrorists.

Based on the information given by the arrested suspects, the police picked up Dr Nayeem Siddique. The police said that a laptop, a mobile phone and Rs 10,000 were seized from the arrested man.

Police sources said Nayeem hailed from Davanagere and was a student trying for post doctoral medical seat in New Delhi.

Sources said he was picked up from the City when he returned from Delhi. Police said the arrested was in touch with the other accused and was providing logistical and financial support for their activities. It is learnt that he recruited more people for their activities.

Investigators into the case said the terror module may be independent of any prominent terror group and may be radicalised local groups that might have taken up arms against specific targets.

However, they said the group did have two handlers based in Saudi Arabia, with whom they were co-ordinating through Skype and other communication tools. The police said they were about to establish the identity of the two handlers. One of them is suspected to be a member of LeT and the other of HuJI.

Police sources said they were also investigating whether the terror modules had links with the terror module busted in Hubli in 2008, with the arrest of two medical students of KIMS, Hubli.

Following the arrest of Obedulla-Ur-Rehman, 21, on August 31 from Hyderabad, the police are looking at whether the handlers of the terror module busted in Hubli in 2008 and the module busted now are the same.

Obedulla-ur-Rehman, arrested in Hyderabad, is said to be a relative of controversial Hyderabad cleric Moulana Naseeruddin, whose close relative Mohammed Ghouse alias Riyazuddin Nasar was arrested in Hubli in 2008 for alleged terror links.

There is another link to the two terror modules. Dr Jaffer Iqbal, arrested from Hubli on August 29, is said to have studied at KIMS, Hubli in the same period (2008). Police said there were chances of the same person radicalising the modules busted in 2008 and now.
