Hurdle cleared for Reach 3

The Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety (CRS), Southern Circle, has approved the construction of a 66-metre-long viaduct span crossing the railway line at Malleswaram.

The clearance by the CRS was crucial as the construction of the bridge is vital for opening the line along Reach 3 from Sampige Road Metro station (Swastik) to Peenya and Hesaraghatta Cross Metro Station.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited Managing Director N Sivasailam expressed happiness over the clearance and said it would take six months to build the viaduct.

“By then, construction of stations and viaducts at some stretches along Reach 3 will also be completed. The line will be open for commercial use latest by February or March 2013,” he said.
