Dattamala abhiyan begins

Sri Ram Sene state convener Arun Kumar Puthila commenced the programme ceremoniously by offering prayers and wearing dattamale at the temple. Later, devotees, who wore dattamale, offered bhajan service to the diety. Thousands of devotees wore dattamala as part of the Dattamala Abhiyan. Meanwhile, people are apprehensive as the district administration and the Sri Ram Sene could not come to an amicable decision on performing poojas and rituals so far.

Puthila said that Sri Ram Sene will organise a grand procession on October 3. A ‘Dattamale Visarjane’ ritual will be organised after holding pooja and homa at Dattapeeta on October 4, he added.

He said that around 10,000 dattamaladharis are expected to visit the Dattapeeta on October 4. “We have already sought the assistance of district administration to provide necessary basic facilities for the devotees,” he added.
Sene leaders Mahesh Kumar Koppa, Prasad Huyigere, Umeshchandra and Annappa were present.
