Rahman Khan says he has no role in wakf body irregularities

 K Rahman Khan, former deputy chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, clarified that he has nothing to do with the irregularities and misappropriation of funds by the Muthavalli of the Hazrath Syed Khasim Kadri dargah of Bijapur, a Wakf institution, as alleged in the complaint filed by advocate Syed Asifulla Khadri before the Lokayukta court.

Khan said the complaint is not against him personally, but against the Muthavalli.  The Wakf Board was made a party for not acting against the Muthavalli. He said he is only a member of the Wakf Board in his capacity as a Member of Parliament.

The Wakf Board has not failed in its duty as it inquired into the charges against the Muthavalli, even before the said complaint was filed, he said. The Board had also filed a complaint in the Gumbaz police station, Bijapur, he said.

It had also filed a protest report, challenging the B-report filed by the police with regard to the case against the Muthavalli, Khan clarified.
