Minor allegedly raped by her tutor

A Class 9 student of a local public school was allegedly raped by her tutor in Modinagar in Ghaziabad.

The incident occurred on Sep 7 but came to light Monday after the girl's mother lodged a complaint with the police.

Police said the mother of the victim stated that her daughter was being tutored by a teacher from the same school. The teacher, Ravish Kumar Garg, called the victim to his house on Sep 7 at 6 a.m.

On returning home, the girl told her mother that Garg had raped her.

"We have registered a case under section 376 of IPC against the teacher. The medical examination of the girl has been conducted. The teacher has been arrested," said SP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma.
