Baldwin Methodist College has always been big on fashion. And this was amply proved by a fashion extravaganza that the college held, recently.

Spread over three full days, the occasion gave students plenty of chances to showcase their chicest styles.

The event was held at the college’s Lincoln Hall and as an additional burst of encouragement, Nicole Faria — former Miss Earth — was invited to be the chief guest on the first day of the event.

Colleges from across the City participated in the fashion show, and were divided across each day.

On the first day, the participating colleges included St Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, Baldwin Women’s Methodist College, Sindhi College and Vogue Institute of Fashion and Technology. Each put up a unique display of style and attitude, and had the crowd cheering throughout the show.

They were judged by fashion designer Anil, actor Manish Chandra and VJ Shravan.

On the second day, the students had more glamour and excitement to look forward to.

The chief guests included actor Anish, actress Sindhu Loknath and model Dayana Erappa. All three had a great time checking out the different teams and making note of the trends they showcased.

The colleges that hit the runway on the second day were AIMS College, Maharani Science College, Presidency College, CMR Law College and SBM Jain College.

The judges included another line-up of well-known names: model Pallavi and Annis — who is Ms Mauritius — were among those present.

The third day of the show was the highlight, so to speak, of the entire event.

The students couldn’t contain their excitement since their chief guests for the day included some of the names in Sandalwood — Radhika Gandhi and Nithin Gowda. Several colleges hit the ramp to battle for the top spot and the result was an explosion of colour, style and attitude.

St Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, Baldwin Women’s Methodist College Sindhi College, AIMS College, Presidency College, CMR Law College, SBM Jain College and Mount Carmel College were among those who walked the runway.

The competition was stiff but ultimately, PES Degree College emerged as the winners while the girls from Baldwin Women’s Methodist College came a close second. The prize for best male model went to Harsha, from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College.

Nicole, from St Joseph’s College of Arts and Science, won the position of best female model.
