This is the first international title for the 26-year old Indian in nearly ten months. In the final on Sunday, Murgunde got the better of Jeanine Cicognini of Switzerland 21-17, 21-12, according to a release from Bangalore-based Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy.
Cicognini had beaten India’s Sayali Gokhale in the quarter-final 21-13, 21-18. The Indian players will now participate in the Bitburger Open, the main draw of which starts on Wednesday.
