I am satisfied with funds and work, claims MLA

“The government has sanctioned Rs 101 crore under various departments for the development of Kadur taluk in the last two years, and I am satisfied with the work I have done during my tenure which includes getting grant to Kadur,” said MLA Dr Y C Vishwanath.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion of completing two years as an MLA,here on Monday, he said that he would not reply to any allegations and criticisms levelled against him by the opposition leaders. “I have a sense of satisfaction, for all the work I have done which includes meeting various ministers to discuss about the development work in the taluk, getting grants to Kadur and opening ‘Goshale’ at a time when farmers are reeling under drought,” said the MLA.

He informed that the taluk has received additional grants under various programmes implemented by the BJP government. “The work on developing roads, desilting of lakes, work taken up by Watershed Department are in progress and are likely to be completed shortly. Women’s First Grade College has been sanctioned to the taluk and the work will begin soon. A sum of Rs 80 lakh and Rs 40 lakh was sanctioned in the last two years under Malnad Area Development Board has been utilised for building Shuddha Ganga drinking water units, said Vishwanath.

Briefing about development work, he said MLAs fund was equally distributed among all community members for building temples, mutts, wedding halls etc.

Work related to Hebbe irrigation project and Bhadra drinking water project are under progress, he said.
