Arnold wanted a '20-year-old honey' after marriage failure?

Arnold Schwarzenegger's reaction after his marriage with Maria Shriver crumbled was "I'm getting me a 20-year-old honey", an article about the former California governor has claimed.

The article accounts the full extent of the fallout after it came into light that he had a love child with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena.

The 'Terminator' star, 65, refused to attend marriage counselling and when Shriver asked for a divorce, she was forced to move out.

She lived in a hotel whilst Schwarzenegger remained in their California mansion with their four children, said Newsweek magazine.

Schwarzenegger also apparently told his next-door neighbour in Sun Valley, "I think things will work out OK with Maria, but if they don't, I'm getting me a 20-year-old honey," according to one of the action star's friends.

Shriver only found out about her husband's affair when she saw Joseph, the 14-year-old son Baena had with Schwarzenegger, at one of her Christmas parties.

After the separation, the article said, quoting an old friend of the actor, "Arnold is up there by himself in his mansion all alone with his pictures and souvenirs of a career. He's like Citizen Kane."
