Last Updated 18 September 2012, 20:12 IST

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sought additional information from the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on the probe initiated into the multi-crore bogus bill scam in three Palike divisions - Gandhinagar, Malleswaram and Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

Lalrokhuma Pachau, director general and inspector general of police, wrote to BBMP Commissioner Rajneesh Goel on September 11 seeking additional records like Measurement Books (MB) and files relating to civil works executed in the three divisions.

The CID will probe 2,420 files and 56 MBs in Gandhinagar, 11 MBs and 45 files in Malleswaram and 126 MBs and 994 files in RR Nagar. “While my officials have claimed that the Palike does not have any files pertaining to the scam, I have asked our officials to give it in black and white. The same will be conveyed to the DG &IG’s office,” said BBMP Commissioner Rajneesh Goel.
