<p>The JD(S) on Thursday demanded that the ruling BJP in the State should give at least three subsidized LPG cylinders a year to BPL families in view of the Centre’s recent decision to cap number of cylinders to six a year.<br /><br /></p>.<p>In his reaction to the nation-wide bundh organised by the BJP and other political parties, JD(S) State president H D Kumaraswamy said if the State government provides subsidy for three cylinders, then the total subsidised cylinders will increase to nine a year. This will be of great help to the poor in both rural and urban areas. The Congress-ruled State governments in the country have already announced to subsidized three cylinders, he added.<br /><br />Similarly, the BJP government can provide relief to common man by reducing sales taxes on diesel and petrol, which is the highest in the country. <br /><br />Instead, it has called for national-wide bandh. The BJP has no moral right to protest against the Centre’s moves, he added.</p>
