Veena recital
A Carnatic classical veena concert by Suma Sudhindra will be held on September 22, 6.30 pm at Vijayabharathi Vidyalaya 11th A Cross, Girinagar, 2nd Phase. This is being organised by Girinagar Sangeetha Sabha. B K Raghu will be on violin, Anooru Ananthakrishna Sharma on mridangam and S N Narayana Murthy on ghatam.
‘Gusto 45...’
The youth creative movement ‘On Fire’ is presenting ‘Gusto 45 Extravaganza’ on September 23, 11 am to 5 pm, at Mount Carmel College Auditorium in Vasanthnagar. This event will mark the launch of ‘On Fire City Center’, a creative hub in the City. The initiative called ‘Gusto 45’ will comprise the release of an anthology of short stories called ‘Winds of Change’, screen a short film ‘Tears of Laugh’, stage a play ‘Speak Up’ and launch a magazine. The event will also have a photography screening session and a painting exhibition.
‘Death and...’
‘Death and the Maiden’ by Ariel Dorfman, with Arundhati and Jagdish Raja, will be staged at Jagriti, Whitefield on September 22 (8 pm) and 23 (3.30 pm and 6.30pm).
‘Sahitya Sanje’
Suchitra Kalakendra will present Sahitya Sanje on September 22, 5.30 pm at Suchitra Ki Ram Nudimane, 36, 9th Main, Banashankari 2nd Stage.
‘Yaadon ka...’
Suchitra Film Society, in association with Department of Information, Government of Karnataka, will present a unique visual-musical talk show by Nalin Shah called Yaadon ka Safar on 80 years of Hindi film music, in shades, phases and social significance. The event will be held on September 23, 11 am at Badami House, N R Square.
A tribute
Deaf artists from Nepal and India have come together to present the Indo-Nepal deaf artists’ art exhibition’ at the Leela Palace Galleria till September 29. This exhibition is a tribute to the ‘Deaf Culture’, celebrating the ‘International Deaf Day’ with the theme ‘Eyes Empowered’ – Part three. The exhibition has been organised to create visibility for the little known world of the deaf and spread awareness of the linguistic cultural community they belong to.
Vocal notes
A Hindustani vocal recital by Heggar Anant Hegde will be held at Sri Varasiddi Vinayaka Temple, Arakere Mico Layout on September 23, 6.30 pm. He is the director of Sangeet Sarita Musical Trust and teacher of Hindustani classical vocal, tabla, harmonium and keyboard etc.
Acting workshop
Centerstage is holding a film acting workshop from September 22 at Alliance Francaise. The workshop is for those who are 12 years of age and above. For registration and workshop details, call 9620304745.
Matching steps
Karnataka Nrityakala Parishath is presenting ‘Ankura Young Dancers Festival 2012’ till September 25 at Nayana Auditorium, Kannada Bhavan, J C Road. It will be held at 6 pm. On September 22, Nrithya Pillai and Gowri Sagar will present bharatanatyam recitals; on September 23, there will be bharatanatyam by Anjali and Rajani K from Mangalore followed by a kathak recital by Seema K V from Mysore.

Music Circle is presenting a vocal recital by Pallavi Prasanna Madhyasta on September 23, 6.15 pm at No. 12, Basaveshwara House Building Co-operative Society Ltd, 7th Cross, 2nd Main, Chandra Layout.
Comedy time
