Members vent ire against babus

Zilla panchayat members vented their ire against K R Nagar tahsildhar Natesh, BEO Javaregowda and DDPI B K Basavaraju for failing to follow protocol at the recent Teacher’s Day programme organised at K R Nagar.

ZP CEO Dr Ajay Nagbhushan said he would report the incident to deputy commissioner and urge him to take necessary action.  He said he would inform the members about the action taken against the tahsildhar within the next 15 days. Earlier, the members stalled the proceedings for nearly 15 minutes, demanding the presence of tahsildhar and other officials at the meeting. They demanded that the officials be taken to task for their ‘irresponsible actions’.

The issue was raised by JD(S) member Kalpana Dhananjay, who said that two separate invitations were printed for Teacher’s Day. She said protocol had been violated as the second invitation didn’t contain names of ZP member.

Similarly, member Chikkannegowda alleged protocol violation at a ‘Arogya Dasoha’ programme in H D Kote. Another member K Maruthi said that officials are continuously insulting the ZP members.

Even grama panchayat members of Ummathuru were not mentioned in the invitation for the Gajapayana programme at Nagapura in Hunsur taluk. The Ummathuru grama panchayat president had to preside over the programme, but he his name was left out in the invitation, they alleged.
