<p>For the next four days, the State Congress leadership will be busy sorting out issues faced by partymen at the district level.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President G Parameshwara, along with CLP leader Siddaramaiah, Leader of the Opposition in the Council S R Patil and All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Shantharam Naik, held first such meeting with leaders from seven districts in Bangalore on Friday.<br /><br />MLAs, MLCs, district Congress committee presidents, and former legislators from Gadag, Hubli-Dharwad, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Haveri and Belgaum Rural districts were involved in day-long discussions with the leaders.<br /><br />The meetings are aimed at identifying problems in each district, ironing out problems and drawing up strategies to face the next Assembly elections.<br /><br />Selection of candidates<br /><br />The meeting will also help the party identify suitable candidates for the elections. The <br />district committees have been asked to submit a list of two or three candidates based on <br />merit.<br /><br />The leaders will also draw up a list of former legislators of Opposition parties who are likely to join Congress party.<br /><br />On Friday, it was also decided that the party would organise women, youth, farmers, students, and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes conventions in the coming days.<br /><br />Mysore division<br /><br />On Saturday, leaders of districts under Mysore division– Mandya, Mysore, Hassan, Mysore Rural, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu will participate in the meeting. <br /><br />Karnataka in-charge and AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistry, who flew down to Bangalore on Friday evening, too will be present in the meetings.<br /></p>
