PG student held for hoax call

The City police on Tuesday arrested a post graduate student on the charge of making a hoax bomb call.

Mangesh Agarwal, 22, had on Monday called the police control room stating that a bomb had been planted at the PVR Cinemas in Forum Mall, Koramangala.

Agarwal hails from Maharashtra and came to the City a month ago to pursue post graduation in computer science. He was staying with his friends at Gollarahalli, Electronics City.

According to police, during interrogation, Agarwal said he was inspired by the Bollywood film ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ in which one of the lead characters makes hoax bomb calls to malls across the country.
