The Janata Dal (Secular) has appealed to Governor H R Bhardwaj to order a detailed, statutory inquiry into the affairs of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) since September 2009.

A delegation led by H D Revanna, the JD(S) floor leader in the Assembly, met the governor on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum seeking the probe.

Signed by JD(S) members of Parliament and legislators, the memorandum alleges that the Federation has become tainted due to irregularities, resulting in a decline in operations — after the KMF was placed under new management in September 2009.

Revanna had headed the Federation for nine years till 2009.

The memorandum alleges that there has been infighting in the Federation over the
appointment of the in-charge managing director and because of an interference in the day-to-day affairs of the KMF by several members of the board of directors.
