A CBI special court here on Friday remanded Mehfuz Ali Khan, personal assistant of mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy, in judicial custody till October 17 in connection with the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) scam.
Khan, accused number seven in the OMC case, was sent to Chanchalguda jail.
Earlier, a Bangalore police team produced Khan before the CBI court here after a prisoner transit (PT) warrant was issued on September 25 for his production.
Khan was lodged in a Bangalore jail since his surrender before a court in Bangalore on March 2.
CBI believes that Khan is a crucial link in the OMC scam and filed a police custody petition to interrogate him.
The court has posted the matter to October 8.
Khan, however, told the judge that he was falsely implicated in the case.
Meanwhile, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Special Court here on Friday extended the judicial custody of Gali Janardhana Reddy till October 19.
