Family caught in submerged lodge

The water has already entered the first floor of Purandareshwari lodge, where the family is staying.

Mallikarjun, his wife Sumithramma, son Chandrakanth and daughter Anita came to Mantralaya on Thursday morning. There was knee-deep water at the Raghavendra temple and they had darshan by night and returned to lodge. They called their other son, Siddarameshwara, back in Chitradurga and informed him that the lodge was submerged in the flood water. “My brother told me over phone that there are more than 30 people in the lodge. There is no power in the building and no rescue operatons either,” he said.

Superintendent of Police Labhuram contacted the Karnool SP and asked him to rescue the victims.
