Koppa TP may be upgraded

Addressing reporters after Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations at Town Panchayat, on Friday Shet informed that Chief Whip in the State Assembly D N Jeevaraj has convinced the Minister for Urban Development in this regard and the Minister has responded positively.

He said that at present the Town Panchayat has jurisdiction of 2 kms and with the upgradation it will be extended to 4 kms embracing 16,000 population. Koppa rural, Binthravalli and Haranduru Panchayats will be included in the Council.

He informed that an action plan of Rs 6.64 crore has been prepared for the development of Town Panchayat including concreting of main roads and construction of three important water tanks.
