Addressing a news conference on Friday, Bopaiah said that construction of Guddemane Ayyappagowda memorial, General Thimmaiah memorial, Suvarna Sanskriti Sammuchchaya, shifting of private bus stand and setting up of science park will be discussed during the meeting and decision will be taken.

He informed that government has already released a sum of Rs 10 lakh for construction of Guddemane Ayyappagowda memorial but the project could not take off due to negligent and slothful officials.

RTO building
Directions have been given for shifting RTO building and PWD officials too have been directed to complete the construction of new RTO building at the earliest as there is no dearth of funds. He said that General Thimmaiah Memorial Bhavan will be started after RTO office is shifted to its new premises

Science Park
He said that Rs 50 lakh has been earmarked for the construction of Science Park in the district, when Ramachandra Gowda was District-in-Charge Minister. The authorities have a plan to build a Park in Field Marshal K M Karyappa College premises for the convenience of the students. However, the Old Students Association of the College has raised objection to this plan, said Bopaiah.
He said that it was once resolved to build Suvarna Sammuchaya in Kaveri Kalakshethra land, in the council meeting but there has been no follow up on the same. On shifting of private bus stand, Bopaiah said that the project got delayed due to the objection raised by an individual in Gonikoppa.

Don’t blame me
Bopaiah clarified that he has not played any role in the transfer of officials from the district and said that it was purely government’s decision to transfer those officials who had been working in one place for more than 5 years. He said that Assistant Commissioner Akram Pasha was transferred because some local residents of Kushalnagar had complained to CM directly against him.

Flys Cauvery Sene
Coming down heavily on Cauvery Sene, Bopaiah called the organisation ‘insane’. He said that Cauvery Sene has been making several allegations against him but he does not find a need to pay heed to the allegations especially because it is made by Cauvery Sene, an organisation which was formed by some people for eking out a living.

“People who are questioning my assets should first prove their allegations,” he said.
He informed that compensation has been released for coffee growers in Chikmagalur district due to efforts of MP D V Sadananda Gowda. Likewise, MP H Vishwanath too needs to work in this direction to get compensation to coffee growers of Kodagu. He said that MLAs from the district will accompany the MP to Delhi to keep forth the proposal.
