For all these days you have been a witness to aththe sose (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) vying with each other to dish out best among the food on TV channels. This year, for Dasara, Women’s and Children’s Dasara Sub-committee has planned the live programme, but with a difference.
Chairperson of the sub-committee and corporator A V Vidya Urs told media on Wednesday that the afore said duo will be cooking food sans hearth on October 19 at 3 pm. To know more you have to take pains to partake in the slew of events from October 18 to 21.
Exhibition-cum-sale of artefacts have been organised on Kalamandira and Palace premises.
At Kalamandira products from the stable of women self help groups and stree shakti sanghas will be opened for sale from October 18 at 11 am with chairperson of State Women’s Development Corporation Sarojini Bharadwaj doing the honours. On October 19 at 12 noon women and child development minister Kalakappa Bandi will inaugurate Women’s Dasara. Rangoli competitions have been organised on October 19 from 7 pm to 8.30 pm in front of Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple at north gate of the Palace. The other highlights are as follows; rendition of folk songs and sobane at 4 pm followed by bhavageethe, Oct 20- 11 am- blindfolded and breaking the pot, 12 noon- musical chair, 2 pm- cultural programmes, 3 pm- elocution contest and 4 pm- quiz. On October 21- kunte bille (jumping the boxes pushing the slabs from legs), 12 noon- ball in the bucket, 2 pm; cultural dressing contest, 3 pm- seminar on atrocity against women, dowry harassment, and the role of men and women in gender discrimination. It will be followed by the valedictory at 4 pm.
